We do not charge extra for grading or insurance.
We do sell kids belts at cost price for when your children are graded, but you are very welcome to source them yourself if you prefer.
what should they wear?
For their first class it is fine to train in comfortable sportswear providing it’s clean and free of toggles, zips, and buttons. Once you are sure they are keen, then they will need a Gi and belt. Please speak to the instructor if you want any advice on where to purchase and what size.
We also have a facebook group for parents to buy and sell Gi’s as kids grow here.
how do i know my kids are safe?
We ask that parents of younger kids stay to watch the class. If you want to leave them, please ensure they are mature enough and let the instructor know.
All instructors are DBS checked, trained in Safeguarding, First Aid and covered by the clubs UKBJJA £5m tournament, public and product liability instructor insurance.
If you have any concerns, please speak to one of the coaches or contact us without hesitation.
do i need to book If i’ve signed up for monthly membership?
Yes please. This is essential for the following reasons:
We can track attendance for grading and belt progression.
Knowing who was at a class and contact details is useful for lost property or other notifications.
This prevents classes from being too busy as we cap the class sizes.
